What to expect on your ride

DAY 1
REGISTRATION
Welcome to Ride the Cape, grab a beer or something to drink, and check in to your luxury tented accommodation at De Stilte Farm. You will receive your Ride The Cape goodie bag filled with a few extra surprises and your tent number during registration. You’re welcome to arrive on Friday between 12:00 and 14:00. Help yourself to the light lunch on offer.
RIDE START
14:30 Today we will start with a 18km leg loosener with rolling hills and beautiful scenery to Witzenberg Valley.
WINE TASTING
15:00–16:00 You will enjoy a wine tasting at Driefonteine Farm.
DINNER AND ENTERTAINMENT
18:30 Time to indulge in a delicious dinner while we look at what’s in store for the rest of the weekend.
DAY 2
CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST
06:00–07:00 Enjoy a delicious breakfast before you set off on your ride.
RIDE START
07:30 Today we set off towards Tulbagh on a 56km ride, soaking up breathtaking views of the undulating Tulbagh, dotted with vineyards, orchards, and an abundance of fynbos. Look forward to a refreshing off-the-beaten-path water point along the way.
LUNCH
12:00–14:00 Enjoy a delicious lunch surrounded by the majestic mountains of the Tulbagh Valley!
OLIVE TASTING
15:30–16:15 Come and enjoy a complimentary olive tasting.
DINNER AND ENTERTAINMENT
18:30 Dinner will entail a unique Cape Cuisine-inspired dish. A preview of day 3 and live entertainment will conclude a great day in the Tulbagh Valley.
DAY 3
CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST
06:00–07:00 Enjoy a delicious breakfast before you set off on your ride.
RIDE START
07:30 Today we head out on a 40km ride, featuring gentle climbs and long, flowing sections that hug the golden canola fields.
CELEBRATORY LUNCH
12:00–14:00 (May vary) End off day and tour off with a gourmet burger lunch.
DAY 1
REGISTRATION
Welcome to the Karoo, grab a beer or something to drink, and collect your goody bag. At registration, you will receive your goody bag, race number, timing chip, and ride guide. You’re welcome to arrive from 12:00-16:00 on Friday.
EVENT START
Stage one is your first taste of the Karoo. The ride can be started anytime between 16:00-18:00. If you are not up for the dark you can complete your cycle throughout the afternoon but if you want the nighttime experience you can start your ride at 18:00.
DINNER AND BRIEFING
18:30-20:30 It’s time to feed those hungry tummies after an exhilarating 20km night ride followed by Day 2 need to knows!
DAY 2
BREAKFAST
06:00-07:30 Enjoy a big hearty breakfast before you set off on your ride.
DAY 2 START
07:30 – The race starts with a 70km journey ahead.
07:35 – E-Bikes
07:45 – Normal Bikes
LUNCH
12:00-14:00 Enjoy freshly made curry mince vetkoek with sided with salads.
SATURDAY ENTERTAINMENT
15:30 Join us on Saturday afternoon for a Sheep dog Demonstration, “Kruiwa Race vir Vleis” and Kiddies Race, in front of the main shed before enjoying some live entertainment and refreshments.
DINNER AND PRIZE GIVING
18:00 Dinner will entail delectable Karan beef steak braai with Janine’s salads, while a fun prize giving is underway.
DAY 3
BREAKFAST
06:00-07:30 Enjoy a delicious Karoo breakfast before you set off on your ride.
DAY 3 START
07:30 – The race starts with a 48km journey ahead.
07:35 – E-Bikes

07:45 – Normal Bikes
LUNCH & PRIZE GIVING
12:00-14:00 (May vary) Receive your handmade windpump as a finishers medal, and enjoy a delicious Karoo inspired lunch followed by prize giving.
DINNER
18:00 – Dinner will entail a Karoo inspired dish with live entertainment! This dinner is not included in the entry but can be purchased additionally along with your entry.
